郑州之窗2022-12-09 14:52:28

Zhaozhi Garden is located in the Princess Ditch of Songshan Mountain. It’s not only a private rubbings museum, but also a feast of architectural culture, attracting countless visitors from afar.

Rubbing means an impression of an incised or sculptured surface of inscriptions or bronze wares made by laying paper over it and rubbing with ink, or a similar substance until the image appears. This technique is now only practiced by a few experienced craftsman and is fail to be handed down from past generations.

In addition to the wonderful rubbings and the restored quadrangle courtyard, the studies of Chinese ancient civilization could also arouse the curiosity of tourists.

The quadrangle courtyard, the traditional dwelling of people of the Han ethnic group, has a time-honored history. A quadrangle courtyard is surrounded by houses on all four sides. The courtyard — which is spacious and well-arranged, and the houses of which are independent, yet connected by pathways — embodies the beauty of traditional Chinese architecture.

When sitting on a wooden bench hundreds of years ago in the academy , feeling the fragrance of the pen and ink, as if one is really being in the old-style private school. The "Gong Yuan(the sixth place in the Chinese style examination at the Provincial Examination level of Imperial Examination)" and "Wukui( Number One in the Wushu Competition)" on the wooden plaque, as well as the cornice dougong of mortise and tenon structure are beautifully carved, and the furniture full of ancient rhyme are all amazing.

With Dean Diao's explanation, everyone felt as if they were walking in the ancient courtyard and dreaming back to the past dynasties. Every moments of the life of the ancient people a thousand years ago seemed to be in front of them.
