The Ancestor Worship Ceremony at Yellow Emperor’s Birthplace in Gengzi Year (2020)

 

 

3月26日，庚子年黄帝故里拜祖大典如约而至。全球华人以庄严神圣之心、感恩追远之情，通过直播遥拜轩辕黄帝，追思始祖功德，祈福中华民族繁荣昌盛，祝愿世界和平安康。

On March 26th, the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Gengzi year came as promised. With solemn and sacred heart and gratitude, Chinese people all over the world worshiped Xuanyuan Huangdi remotely through live broadcasts, remembered the merits and virtues of their ancestors, prayed for the prosperity of the Chinese nation, and wished the world peace and well-being.

庚子年黄帝故里拜祖大典由河南省人民政府、政协河南省委员会、国务院台湾事务办公室、中华全国归国华侨联合会、中华全国台湾同胞联谊会、中华炎黄文化研究会等单位联合主办，由郑州市人民政府、政协郑州市委员会承办，新郑市人民政府执行。

The ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Gengzi year was jointly sponsored by Henan Provincial People's Government, Henan Provincial Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, Association for Yan Huang Culture of China and other units, undertaken by Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government and Zhengzhou Municipal Committee of CPPCC, and implemented by Xinzheng Municipal People's Government.

今年大典仍以“同根同祖同源，和平和睦和谐”为主题，以“长江黄河共战‘疫’，轩辕黄帝佑中华”为主旨，保留大典九项仪程，以现场简约而庄严的仪式、全球网上拜祖、电视连线等线上线下、大屏小屏互动交互的形式进行。

This year's ceremony is still based on the theme of "Same Root, Same Ancestor and Same Origin, Peace, Concord and Harmony", with the purport of "the Yangtze River and Yellow River fighting together for the ‘epidemic’, and the Xuanyuan Huangdi protecting China". It retains nine rituals of the ceremony, and is carried out in the form of online and offline, big screen and small screen interaction, such as simple and solemn ceremony on the spot, global online ancestor worship, and TV connection.

当天，部分黄帝故里当地群众作为参拜人员，大家保持左右间隔2米、前后间隔3米的距离，代表五大洲世界华人进行观礼和参拜。

On that day, some local people in the hometown of Yellow Emperor served as worshippers, and kept a distance of 2 meters from left to right and 3 meters from front to back, representing Chinese people from all over the five continents to observe the ceremony and pay homage.

9时34分，庚子年黄帝故里拜祖大典开始，全体肃立，鸣盛世礼炮21响。随后，礼兵走上拜祖台，向黄帝像敬献花篮。

At 9:34, the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of the Yellow Emperor in the Gengzi year began, all stood up, and the salute of the prosperous age sounded 21 times. Later, the ritual soldiers went to the ancestor worship platform and presented flower baskets to the statue of the Yellow Emperor.

在“净手上香”仪程中，嘉宾走到台前，虔诚地燃上一炷高香。

During the ceremony of "hand cleaning and incense burning", the guests walked to the front of the platform and religiously burned a wick of incense.

随后，观礼人员面向黄帝像，满怀崇敬之情行施拜礼，深深三鞠躬。

Afterwards, the spectators faced the statue of the Yellow Emperor, paid homage with reverence, and bowed three times deeply.

现场播出了美国、澳大利亚、法国、英国、赞比亚等世界五大洲华人和香港、澳门、台湾同胞行施拜礼画面，展现炎黄子孙血浓于水的无限亲情。

Pictures of Chinese from five continents including the United States, Australia, France, Britain, Zambia and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were broadcast live, showing the infinite affection of Chinese descendants whose blood is thicker than water.

“行施拜礼”环节结束后，以实时连线的方式，齐续春代表亿万炎黄子孙恭读拜祖文，恭颂轩辕黄帝开辟文明、佑我中华之功德，展示中华民族传承创新、再造辉煌的发展愿景。

After the "paying homage to the ancestor", Qi Xuchun, on behalf of hundreds of millions of descendants of the Yellow Emperor, read the works of worshipping ancestors, praising Xuanyuan Huangdi’s merits and virtues of opening up civilization and blessing China, showing the Chinese nation's vision of inheriting and innovation and recreating brilliant development.

“高唱颂歌”环节由郑州少儿合唱及成人合唱人员、港澳台同胞和海外侨胞以“云合唱”的方式参与，《黄帝颂》悠扬的旋律唱出了全球华人同拜始祖、团结一心的凝聚力。

"Singing Carols" is attended by children's chorus and adult chorus in Zhengzhou, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and overseas Chinese in the form of "cloud chorus". The melodious melody of Ode to the Yellow Emperor sang out the cohesive force of Chinese people all over the world who worshiped their ancestors and united as one.

以往每年的“乐舞敬拜”环节调整为“众志成城”，这是今年大典一项特殊的仪式。

The annual "Worshiping by Music and Dancing" link in the past was adjusted to "Uniting as One", which was a special ritual in this year's ceremony.

9时54分，“祈福中华”仪程开始，各个代表点燃手中的火炬，共同祈福民族昌盛、祖国繁荣、世界和平。

At 9:54, the ceremony of "Blessing China" began, and delegates lit the torch in their hands to pray for national prosperity, motherland prosperity and world peace together.

在“天地人和”环节，别出心裁地以播放短片的形式，向世界展示黄河之南、天地之中，“四条丝路”通天下、经济腾飞的新河南形象。

In the link of "Harmony of Heaven, Earth and Man", the new Henan image with "Four Silk Roads" connecting the whole world and taking off economically in the south of the Yellow River and between heaven and earth is displayed to the world in the innovative form of playing short films.

至此，拜祖大典九项仪程全部完成。

At about 10 o'clock, the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Gengzi year was completed.

现场庄严肃穆，“云端”热情高涨。今年首次设立了“网上拜祖祈福平台”，为全球华人在网络空间拜祖祈福提供了身临其境的体验环节，全网全球推送、点击、浏览量达20多亿人次。

The scene was solemn and the enthusiasm of the "cloud" was soaring. This year, for the first time, an "online platform for worshipping ancestors and praying for blessings" was set up, which provided an immersive experience link for Chinese people all over the world to worship ancestors and pray for blessings in cyberspace, being pushed, clicked and viewed globally by over 2 billion people.

值得一提的是，庚子年黄帝故里拜祖大典把黄帝文化与黄河文化融汇在一起，整体提升了拜祖大典“根脉所系、魂魄所依”的时代主题和历史定位，将“两黄”的文化源流、文明脉络有机地贯穿拜祖大典的始终。

It was worth mentioning that the ancestor worship ceremony in the hometown of the Yellow Emperor in Gengzi year integrated the Yellow Emperor culture with the Yellow River culture, which promoted the era theme and historical orientation of the ancestor worship ceremony of "the root is tied, the soul is dependent" as a whole, and organically penetrated the cultural origin and civilization context of "Two Yellow" throughout the ancestor worship ceremony.
